Assistants

Connect ChatGPT or Claude.

TailTandem is an MCP server. Any assistant that supports custom connectors can read what is due, say who gave what, and record a dose you tell it was given.

Steps

1. In TailTandem, open Settings › Assistant integrations › ChatGPT, Claude and others.
2. Create a key. It is shown once; copy it.
3. In the assistant, add a custom connector with the address shown in the app and the key as the bearer token. Where a connector cannot carry a header, append the key to the address as its last path segment.

What it can do

• List your pets and their medications.
• Tell you today's doses, the next open dose, and who gave what in the last week.
• Record a scheduled dose as given or skipped, under the same rules as the app. A dose already recorded is refused, and both phones see the record within seconds.
• File a feature request when you ask for something it cannot do.

What it will not do

Suggest a dose, an amount, or what to do about a missed one. That is for your veterinarian, and the connector says so.

Keys

One key per assistant, so revoking one ends only that assistant's access. Keys are stored hashed; a lost key cannot be recovered, only replaced. Revoke keys under the same screen in the app.
